We have some important news for our patients and community. Belmont Medical Centre (BMC) and Devonport Family Medicine (DFM) clinics are officially merging and will operate permanently from one shared location at 2 Fleet Street, Devonport. 

Over the past few months, both teams have been working together from this shared space, and many patients have already experienced care there. What started as a temporary arrangement has shown us how much stronger we are when we work side by side — improving communication, coordination, and access for everyone.

Why the change?
Late last year, a non-clinical safety incident occurred at BMC. While patient care was not affected, a thorough safety review confirmed that consolidating services into one location is the safest, most coordinated way to support our patients and staff.

While it’s sad to close BMC, the people who care for you, your usual GPs and nurses remain the same.

What this means for patients:

• Your GP and care team stay the same.
• Appointments, services, and bookings continue as normal.
• Over time, you’ll benefit from enhanced coordination, access, and flexibility across the combined team.
• The DFM site has ample space, parking, and easy public transport access.

Your usual GPs, nurses, and care team remain dedicated to supporting you and your family from the shared location, ensuring continuity, community-focused care, and a seamless transition for all our patients.
